Skill Level - Intermediate/Advanced



Abbreviations
DC - Double Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch

SC - Single Crochet


Materials


Size 10 Crochet Cotton
Size 3 Steel Crochet hook
Sewing or Tapestry Need to sew in tails


NOTE: I will be using the chain 1 as a step up to the next round.  It will not count as as stitch.  This is a replacement for the chain 3 at the beginning of the round.  You can use the chain 3 if that is something you are more comfortable with.


Chain 8, join
Round 1:  CH 1, Work 24 Double Crochet through chain, join.  (24 double crochet total)


Round 2: Chain 1, *Work 1 DC in each of the next 2 stitches, CH 1, continue around from*. (Total of 12 sets of DC with CH 1 between)


Round 3: CH 1, *SC in DC, (CH 4 SL ST, CH 4, SL ST, CH 4 SL ST in SC(picot) Work SC in next stitch, chain 2, continue around from *. (12 picot sets with the chain 4 loops) Cut thread, secure.


Round 4:  Attach thread to center chain 4. Ch 1, work a SC in same chain , *Chain 4, work a SC in the center CH 4 of next set of chain 4 loops, continue around to the beginning repeating from *,  join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.


Round 5: CH 1, * 1 DC in SC, 7 DC through chain. Continue around from *, join with the beginning stitch. (96 Double Crochet total)


Round 6: CH 1, Work a double crochet in each stitch around. (96 Double Crochet total)


Round 7:  CH 1, *Work a double crochet in each of the next 4 stitches, chain 3, work 1 DC in each of the next 4 stitches. Continue around from *, join with the beginning DC.


Round 8:  Slip stitch over 1 stitch, Work 1 Single Crochet between the Double Crochet. There will be 2 DC  on each side of the single crochet, *CH 3, Work 2 DC in the next CH space.  Work 3, CH 4 loops, slip stitching in the top of the DC, work a double crochet in same space, CH 3, single crochet between the DC, repeat from *, work a slip stitch to join the last chain. Cut the thread.


You can repeat rounds 4-8.

Measurements
3" inches tall with a folded edge
4" inches tall - Not folded
7" inches across

Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
SL ST - Slip Stitch


Materials
Size I - 5.5mm crochet hook
3 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle



CH 3 Join.
Round 1: Work 12 SC through the chain, do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (12 SC total)
Round 3: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 4: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (24 SC total)
Round 5: Work 2 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total)
Round 6: Work 1 SC in each stitch around. (48 SC total) Work a slip stitch to even off the round.

Round 7: Chain 1, *work a SC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, work 6 DC in the next stitch, skip 2 stitches, continue from * 8 times total. Join with the beginning stitch. (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell)

Round 8-15: Slip stitch over 3 DC, CH 1, *Work a SC between the DC. There will be 3 DC on each side of the SC.  Work 6 DC in the next single crochet, Continue around from *.  (8 Shell total with 6 DC in each shell) 

The sides will start to form on round 9.

Handle - 15" inches - 38 CM
CH  12, join with the beginning chain.  
Round 1: Work 12 SC around the chain. Do not join. Work the continual round working the next stitch in top of the first stitch.
Round 2-50: Work 1 SC in each stitch around.  Work a slip stitch at the end to even off the round.

Place the handles evenly across from each other at the bottom of the basket and sew in place.   In the video tutorial, I folded the edge on the basket.  You will sew the handle from the bottom up.  The handle will help the sides stay up.

Upon completion, sew in all the tails.
