Abbreviations
HDC - Half Double Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch
SC DEC - Single Crochet Decrease
Single Crochet Decrease - This is taking two stitches and reducing them down to one stitch. Insert the hook through the first stitch, wrap the yarn over the hook, pull it through, leave the two remaining loops on the hook. Insert the hook through the next stitch, wrap the yarn over the hook and pull it through. There will be 3 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through all 3 loops to complete the single crochet decrease.
Materials
Size H/5mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle
Fiberfill or stuffing for the head
You can use a different size crochet hook to make a larger or smaller angel.
Head
Round 1: Work 6 single crochet through the chain. Do not join, work the first single crochet in the top of the next stitch.
Round 2: Work 2 single crochet in each single crochet around (12 single crochet total)
Round 3-4: Work 1 single crochet in each single crochet around (12 single crochet total)
Round 5: Work 6 single crochet decrease. (see above for details on working the single crochet decrease) Once you have complete 3 single crochet decrease, you will want to add some filling to the head. Continue with the remaining 3 single crochet decrease. Secure the yarn and sew the remaining section of the head shut.
Wings
Chain 5, join with the beginning chain.
Round 1: Chain 1, pull up, work 12 double crochet through the loop.
Round 2: Chain 1, pull up, work 3 double crochet in each stitch around. (36 Double Crochet Total)
Dress
Round 1: Chain 1 and pull up. Work 1 DC in each of the next 6 stitches. Skip, 12 stitches, work 1 DC in each of the next 6 stitches. Skip 12 stitches. Join with the beginning double crochet. (12 double crochet total)
Round 2: Chain 1 and pull up. Work 3 DC in each stitch around. Join with the beginning stitch.
Round 3: Chain 1 and pull up, Work 1 DC in the next stitch, Work 2 DC in the next stitch. Continue around with 1 DC in one stitch and then 2 DC in the next stitch. Join with the beginning stitch.
Round 4: Chain 1 and pull up, Work 1 DC in each stitch around. Join with the beginning stitch.
Round 5: Chain 1 and pull up, Work 1 DC in the next stitch, Work 2 DC in the next stitch. Continue around with 1 DC in one stitch and then 2 DC in the next stitch. Join with the beginning stitch.
Halo
Chain 9, join. Work 9 reverse single crochet.

This can easily be modified for smaller or longer larger cone shapes. If you find that your chain is to short, just make another chain estimating how much you will need and pin it on

Once you get your strips made, you will evenly wrap the shell strip, pinning around the Styrofoam cone with your floral pins, hiding the pins beneath the shells so they are overlapping the previous row.
